Great easy to learn game. My new favorite compact game.

The more I play this game the more I enjoy it. I've been playing this off and on for the last few months and love the simplicity of the game wether at solo or two or three player. I'm always trying out new scoring strategies. After the first learning game its quick to pick up and fully understand and see strategies. Highly recommend this.

EXCELLENT Game!

Absolutely love it! Probably my favorite game ever! I have Cascadia, Ark Nova, Hogwart's Battle, Wingspan, and many, many more games. I love this because of speed quick set up and extremely fun game okay! So much variety of strategies of you get the two expansions as well! And they're fairly inexpensive, so easy to do.

Favorite game! Must buy!

Love this game! It's lower strategy but easy to pick up and play with different groups of people with different gaming abilities. I love the game design and the beauty of the forest it creates! One of my favorites and a great price point to boot!

Pricey but ok as a gift.

Bought this as a gift. The family seems to enjoy it. Kind of pricey.

The tape is normal. Not a previously opened box.

Like others here I was disturbed to find the game appeared to be previously opened and resealed with tape. I requested a replacement and it arrived in exactly the same state. So I went to board game geek and found someone stating the game doesn’t come sealed in plastic…So out of curiosity I opened the second game. Totally new inside. The card packs are sealed in paper. So here is my theory:The publisher is leaning into the nature theme. So they don’t want to add more plastic to landfills. No plastic seal on the outside. No plastic seals around the cards. This is fine for a game that sits on a shelf at a target but in a warehouse where the temperatures and humidity fluctuate a lot it has resulted in the box warping and the original small circular stickers holding it shut breaking. This necessitated taping the box shut again. So! If your box looked previously opened try fully opening it before returning it. Chances are it is still a new game.

The word for headache is forest

I was looking forward to this game for a long time and spent full price on it. All the critics couldn't be wrong, right? Well, uhhh... hmmm....I don't like this game. Now understand, I own something like 300 games and have played I don't know how many hundreds/thousands. I'm a fan of Bruno Cathala, could have a shelf dedicated to Reiner Knizia, I own everything from 10 second games to 7 hour behemoths like Twilight Imperium. I have a soft spot in my heart for card games like Imperius, Fox in the Forest, Aboretum, etc because they play fast and have a lot of depth.I've tried to play this one several times and bounced off of it because of the rules complexity (???). Yeah, the rules are not intuitive to me on this one AT ALL. I think this is one of those "critic syndrome" games where the designer taught all the critics at board game shows, and they all taught each other, and they are used to a headache-inducing level of complexity in their games anyway, so they all like how complicated this game is and playing it with each other. But out of the box, this game is just really unappealing to me.First of all, I hate the artwork. This is one ugly game. Second of all, I already own a ton of combo-licious card playing games like Jump Drive, Conspiracy Abyss. I already own a bunch of forest themed games with cute animals and wonderful theme and unique mechanics. In that department Winterhaven Woods destroys this game.I'm not sure what others see here but all I see is yet another points chasing math game where you are trying to play cards with hard-to-read icons to score in increasingly obtuse ways. There's like 10 reference cards (!) that come with this game. If I want that level of reference I'll play something fun like Neom. And yes, that's the real problem here. This is an instantly UNFUN game.Sorry, I'm calling this one AVOID. Unfun. Boring. Headache-inducing. If you want some math with your trees play Arboretum instead. I still need to give Meadow a play. Maybe that will be what I was hoping this game was.
