Are you a supertaster?
Was excited to find out if I am a supertaster or not. We studied the sense of taste in my psychology class. Very reasonably priced

These Might Not be Working Correctly
Got these for a birthday party. 19 people took the test and 47% said they had no taste, 31% said they tasted it but only weakly, and 21% said they tasted it strongly. It's possible we had a weird combo of people in the group, but we were also doing the taste bud counting experiment with it, and that all fell into normal distribution. Only 21-26% should have been no tasters given their taste bud counts. I think there might be something off with these strips, or at least the batch that we received. Having 47% not be able to taste the strips is way too high of a number.

Does it work?
I cannot tell if these strips are working as designed. When you place one on your tongue, you are supposed to experience either no bitterness, some bitterness or intense bitterness as a proxy for whether or not you have fewer taste buds (25%), nominal taste buds (50%) or more taste buds (25%).Unfortunately, I don't taste anything which either means that they don't work or that they do work and that I am taste bud deficient. My purpose for having these was to use with relatives and friends who as wine tasters may have the differing degrees of taste buds and thus process enjoyment from wine differently. So I am a bit up in the air about their effectiveness...

This product is known to cause cancer in the state of California
It would be nice if I knew that this product is known to cause cancer in the state of California before I read it on the package label when it arrived. Even though I don't live in the state of California I still find this a concern. Maybe they could have posted that information next to where it says "Guaranteed safe for people without food allergies".

Enough Prop on the strip?
I took a Prop test a few years ago at the doc's office and the bitterness was very obvious. I can taste the bitter on these strips, but much weaker than at the doc's. People I've tested all tasted the Prop bitter but very weakly. So, I'm wondering if the strips are weak. Thought I should give the manufacturer a heads up with this review.
