Great quality does the job

The bracket itself works. The piss-poor HP design is the issue. VESA mounts should always be already on the monitor. Live and learn.

Work like a charm

I have three of the monitors that this mount is compatible with, and I love all of them, but I have long been frustrated with the fact that their thin design restricts their ability to accommodate a VESA mount. Since I wanted to free up my desk space and clean up the overall appearance, I recently got a dual monitor mount that clamps to the edge of the desk, so I needed a way to abandon the stand for the HP monitor and mount it to the floating arm instead. I was very pleased to stumble across this product, since it is purpose made for my application and monitor model (27f, btw). Installation is fairly easy- just push the recessed "button" that releases the stand assembly from the monitor, then unscrew the two small screws on the bottom of the plastic piece of the pivoting stub that sticks out of the monitor (this is the same piece that has the release button for the stand integrated into it). Then, slip this new mounting bracket onto that plastic piece (it will have a little bit of play), and then lock it in place with the two slightly longer screws from this kit that replace the original ones you just removed. These screws will eliminate the play between the new bracket and the monitor itself. Then just mount to just about any VESA compatible mount that you want. The kit does include some nuts and bolts that will allow you to attach this mount to your VESA-compatible item, which is inherently necessary since VESA usually means you are fastening your mounting bracket directly to threaded holes on the monitor itself, not a thin piece of metal as in this case. Overall, I am very pleased with this product, and if I ever decide to give my other two monitors in my home office a similar treatment, I can easily see myself coming back to this option.
