All in all, these things work pretty well. Out of the six, two of them broke right off. I don't have any idea if it has anything to do with the color, but I have used the black one over and over and over again. I have probably opened a good 200 envelopes with it. It's just starting to get dull now. So I started with the red one, and the red one looks like it's going to work too. So all in all you're getting your money's worth here

These are junk. My original order came with one broken so I requested a replacement. The replacement arrived ok but then one broke while using on a regular envelope within 2 days.

These are pretty junky. Small, flimsy, not very sharp. I’ve had them two weeks and two have already broken. They only cut through about half an envelope before they stop and you start ripping the envelope up. Purchase something else.

I buy 8mm paper straws as liners for my Mason Bee trays. I use an envelope opener to split the straws to make harvesting the cocoons faster and easier. This particular opener has a narrow enough cutter to enable to me to effortlessly and quickly split the entire length of the straw. I assume they would work equally well on envelopes, but I will probably never know as that is not the reason I bought these. The price and quality were right, especially given the quantity.
