2.5⭐️ rounded up because I owe it that, due to it being new.The differences aren't discernible to the eye, but even without handling the old factory blade, I could tell this less expensive replacement wasn't as heavy straight out of the box. The 11 year old factory blade weighed in at 195 grams while the new replacement weighed in 165 grams - an ounce less. Also, while the blade thickness isn't pronounced enough to be obvious to the eye, my digital calipers measured the original blade's thickness (after 11 years of at least daily usage) at the center post was 1.60mm whereas the aftermarket replacement measured 1.45mm at the center post.Now, I don't know anyone who would spend $$$$ on a Robot Coupe who doesn't put it through some heavy duty daily usage. So grams and mm may not sound like a big deal, but I have a suspicion I'm gonna find out that I should have spent the extra money (twice as much) and bought the manufacturer replacement blade. If this lasts 5 years, I'll be shocked out of my mind. The plastic base feels thinner, cheaper, like it will probably be the demise of the blade before the lesser quality blade dulls out.**off to see if my Dad can use his bench grinder and sharpen the original blade. It's shot, so I've got nothing to lose.
