I initially had some problems with these patches. I've used another brand and there was a plastic backing that needed to be removed before you could use the hat press. I couldn't get the plastic off the backs of these and they weren't sticking to the hat using a hat press at 275° and 20 seconds so I contacted the seller. I was told that the plastic is not supposed to be removed and it's part of the adhesive. After some trial and error, I found that if I set my hat press to 350° and 30 seconds, they work fine.

These engraved very easy. Not gold, but that could be my settings, it’s what I wanted so it was good. The pressing was a pain. There is nothing to help them stay in place so used heat resistant tape made for my heat press it worked great. Then I tried pressing multiple times at multiple temperatures and times. Nothing was working. After a short break and some research I landed on 160° C and 25 seconds. It worked great. This is much longer and hotter than other patches I have used. Also, I saw many complaints about scorch marks. I used a Teflon sheet and had no issues. I was ready to throw everything away and give these 1-star but after some adjustments will likely use again. I also purchased in grey but have not yet pressed them.

This patch engraved perfectly and pressed correctly. This was my first attempt at pressing a hat and I couldn't be more pleased. Been wearing it for a couple of days and so far the patch is adhering correctly.Hopefully it turns into a cheap and affordable way to help advertise my business.

The patches are very thin and they do not have the 2nd color once engraved like some of the other patches. Having a hard time with the backs of them as well. Some look as if they just have glue on them while others look as if they have the plastic covering over the glue. I had a few that looked as if glue was bunched up on the back and coming off in strips. I am very sorry for this review however I have to maintain a good quality product to stay in business.

Half of the colored patches don't feel like typical leather and look like foam sheets that stain even when cleaned after engraving.

Patches all engraved great. I wish the black was a different color, but for the price these are well worth it.

I’ve never had a bad experience with Dunzy brand patches until these. They do not laser well at all, tried various strength with my 22w diode and it was truly subpar.What really got me is the crappy adhesion, it’s nice not having to peel off some plastic backing, but whatever heat melt adhesive is on these is garbage.Any other Dunzy patch with medium pressure I get a solid grip in 20-45 seconds and might have to do some spot treating on the corners, these however took well over 2 minutes to get proper adhesion to a hat, had to redo it several times due to lifting all around the edges, tons of annoying strings that poke out of the sides that have to be trimmed.Whatever felt like top this is does not accept stain, paint, or protective products like other patches.Was really pumped for the gray color but these are going back, just not worth the time or money to mess with.
