Short stories, great questions with a, b, c and d answers
The media could not be loaded. The Reading and Math tests scholastic books are absolutely amazing for kids that are moving from second to third grade. My daughter absolutely loves it. The reading book has 10 test that each includes several short texts with answers and a page with synonyms, Antonyms or multiple meanings questions for Vocabulary. My daughter has learned so much from those tests. Practicing reading and comprehension questions are great way to stay engaged during the summer break. We will buy again for next year.

Super helpful!
My kids have been struggling in reading and this has been helping. The book isn't that big but I think its a good size and asks really good questions about the passages.

Nice and clean, BUT it says Manatees are MILLIONS of years old.
Nice and clean, BUT it says Manatees are MILLIONS of years old. Crazy that they are still pushing this false doctrine.

I’d recommend
I use these to supplement reading comprehension with my home schooler. He’s technically in 2nd grade and these challenge him enough to keep the wheels turning and keep his comprehension skills growing.

Good
I bought this book because my son is in the third grade and I wanted to help him with his language arts particularly the reading comprehension part of it. It seems that many students in elementary school are struggling with reading comprehension. This book offers a good beginning level as the passages are all really short like a few paragraphs and then they ask questions about that paragraph. Compared to the actual reading Sims that my son is getting at school which is much longer and also maybe the year-end state exam this one is the passages in this one are much shorter. But that's not necessarily a bathing because if I want him to work on something that he's not comfortable with then he should start with something simple and work his way up so I would definitely recommend this book.

Great practice for a daily basis
I am a mom of a second grader. Based on his previous iReady diagnostic tests and reading assessment from the teacher, his reading level is at 3rd and 4th grade. I bought this this book because I wanted my son to practice his reading comprehension. In addition, his 3rd iReady reading result did not show great improvement from the previous one. Therefore, I purchased this book to investigate the reason/difficulty my son may encounter in reading tests. There are a total of 10 practice test units in this book. Each unit includes 5 reading passages, one synonym, and one antonym practice. Each reading passage of the 5 provides 2-5 questions. The question might be vocabulary question, best title of the passage, and comprehension question. The question also provides sentences for students to distinguish either they are opinions or facts. My son practiced one unit and completed it in 10 minutes, so it should not take too long per day. It is great for my son to practice in a daily basis.
