BickmoreKahl Hat Stiffener - Great for Fabric & Felt Hat Brims - Will Not Affect Tone, Texture, or Color

Applied a first coat to a straw hat (Panama style purchased in Colombia) and am very happy with ease of application and stiffness achieved. The hat was in very good shape to begin with but was in need of some stiffening. It has benefited from a first coat (inside and out). I will likely apply a second coating. Time will tell how long it holds. For now, I am very satisfied with the product.

This is a very good product that I've used successfully on both felt and straw fedoras. It's safe for my expensive hats, and hasn't left any visible buildup or discoloration on any of them. Just spray it on evenly where you want to stiffen, shape while it's wet, and let dry. That's it. A little steam afterward allows you to finish shaping. Easy. You may need to repeat the process a time or two with some hats, but I generally get the results I'm looking for with one application.

It was not effective stiffening a cheep hat

This is an incredible product, as long as you use it on a quality hat. My 10x Americans feel like they're made out of cardboard now, and my 100x Amercans feel like they're carved from would. I did three applications, with drying between, on the outside and inside of each hat, then steamed them, and they are all more rigid than they were the day I got them.

After washing my Aussie Breezer, it lost its stiffness. This stuff fixed it up like new.
