The springs on the latch are very poor and stretch to the point of not functioning after very little use.

I use carabiners every day, all day long at work. I use one to secure my backpack in a moving vehicle and another for a key fob attached to my belt. In my experience, after a few short months the spring usually gives out or the hinge gets worn out and I have to replace them.I honestly bought these because there were multiple carabiners that I could have on hand to replace the inevitable broken one. A year and a half later and I’m still on my original carabiners!! Pretty incredible and they are still in great working order even though the color my be rubbing off. They have strong spring action and the hinges are still working. They are definitely heavier duty than your average carabiner, but I wouldn’t use for climbing. These are great and I definitely recommend.
