I think is worthless, I can't control the phone's camera, pictures are taken by the app. The zoom is not smooth.

I never knew Selfie Remotes existed until now, but it's so genius, I think everyone needs one.In order to use the selfie remote, you need to download the GPEL app and sync your bluetooth remote to your phone.I have two criticisms about the app (for Android):1.) The photo quality gets just a little bit worse than your phone's regular camera. (At least on mine, it may be different for iPhone)2.) When you are taking multiple photographs in a row, the camera mode stays on, but the minute you click on your photo to see what it looks like, there is no way to return back to the camera mode of the app. I had to completely close out the app and re-start it every time I wanted to see my photos, but that's not a huge issue.Something that is super convenient is the fact that I have a Moto G LTE, and this remote uses the exact same charging cord. So I only need one cord to take care of both devices, if I were to go on a trip somewhere. If you have an iPhone, your cords will obviously be different, but for me, that fact was a huge bonus.I included a photo of me holding my cat, because I propped up the phone on some books on my dresser and a stand. It's so cool that I can use both hands in a photo. You would never be able to tell that I did not need a second person to take that photograph.In the third photo, I paired it with the GPEL Professional Selfie Stick. This is going to be great for bringing with me when I travel, to take pictures of myself and my friends standing in front of beautiful backgrounds. I will never have to ask someone, "Can you take my picture?" again.I received a coupon for a discount from GPEL in exchange for my honest review.

Worked fine first day I used it on my iPhone 6. Now each time I take a photo it says "user denied access". I know it has something to do with the app. since I tried taking photo directly from app on phone with same outcome. I tried removing app and reinstalling but get same thing. Since I cant use this without the app its useless. No support from where I downloaded app on iTunes and only one review

This is a fantastic little remote. Works like a charm and is the only BT remote I've seen that allows full control of the camera: zoom, switch front/back camera, shutter release and video.The only caveat is you can't change camera/video "modes" though, you have to use it with the GPEL app. For this I deduct a star, would be nice to have access to all the modes on my S7 Edge (there are tons and this phone's camera is amazing).The app is nice though and very easy to use. Charge last forever - I've been using it a fair amount for the last week and have yet to have to recharge it. The remote itself feels well made and fits nicely in the hand.Unless you REALLY need access to all your phone's camera's modes this is an awesome little remote and should suit 99% of users needs.I was provided a sample for review. I have not tested this with Android, only with Apple iPhones. I have kids that really love their selfies and videos. They are in love with this remote by GPEL. They set their phones on a tripod and use this to get the perfect shot. This remote allows them to take many or a few shots. It allows them to zoom in or out. It is crazy how many options this allows them to use while being way far away from their phone. They have tested it from 25 feet away. That is a pretty good distance for remote photos. It is a further distance than my Bluetooth headset can work. They love doing little web shows, and this lets them do it and keep them in front of the camera instead of behind it. they do not fight anymore about who gets to be on their webcast. I would recommend this for anyone who is serious about using their phone as a camera. I did receive this remote complimentary for the purposes of product testing and leaving honest and unbiased feedback. The price paid did not influence the opinion of this product.
