Works as advertised. Great value and light weight!

I ordered this for a 70 mile backpack trip with afternoon rain expected everyday (Philmont). This proved to be durable enough while putting on my loaded pack and kept the rain out (except for when I forgot to re-zip the pocket after unpacking it). Had plenty of freedom of movement and fit well. I got this over the other ultralight Frogg Toggs rain suit which I had heard was not durable at all. This also proved to be a great lightweight wind breaker as well. Not the most breathable but I did not expect it to be. It is definitely worth the money over the $200+ rain jackets that are bulky.

Excellent unisex rain jacket.

Light weight. Ignore the "women's" designation the fit and color is unisex. Size medium fits 5' 11" male 180lbs. Enough room in the torso and sleeves to fit over sweaters or puffer jackets. Cord cinches at hood and waist. Velcro cinches at sleeve ends and back of hood. Decent (not great) nylon zippers. 217 grams or .48 lbs or 7.7 ounces for size medium. Taped seams. Material is single layer coated polyester. Doesn't breath but none of that "breathable" material actually "breathes" when the humidity is 100%. Definitely repels water (i.e. waterproof) and can't wet out. Single small breather hole under the pit. No pit zips. A step up in construction and material from the easily shredded standard Frogg Toggs jacket. May tear if heavy bushwhacking but will hold up better than the standard. Polyester is a lot more comfortable than most jacket materials. I think this doubles as a great wind jacket as well. Thumbs up.

Thrilled with this jacket!

I was looking at ultralight rain jackets for four or five times what I paid for this one, and decided to give it a try based on the specs and price. Last night I put it through the stress test, biking my 14 mile commute in a winter down pour - and I’m impressed. Not a hint of moisture made it through this thing. It breathes. It’s so light and packs down so well it’s nothing to throw it in my bag. 11/10.

Pretty nice

Pretty nice very light weight but probably not gonna be durable because of the weight.

Very light and packable.

Super light and packs down very small to fit in my motorcycle tank bag. I use for walking around not riding. Works great would recommend.

Good backpacking option

Just got this, so can’t speak to its weather-proof abilities or durability yet, but wanted to post a FIT and WEIGHT REVIEW as I could find next to nothing about either on this jacket anywhere. I’m 6’-1”, 195 lbs. and I bought the LARGE. Having purchased other Frogg Toggs jackets and pants before, I was familiar with how they are oddly sized - usually being very oversized in the body but short in sleeve length. With the Xtreme, I was very happy to see that it is much more of a standard fit for a jacket (see pic). For my build, it looks good over a shirt, but has sufficient room for a puffy jacket underneath in cold weather. And sleeves are just long enough. In short, this jacket should be perfect for trail or town use. And at 8.2 ounces for the Large, a great “just-in-case” barrier for rain on the trail.

Perfect for lightweight backpacking - 7.85oz medium

This is exactly what I wanted. A cheap ~$24 semi-disposable jacket that doesn't rely on a DWR which is just going to wear off and wet out anyway. Breathability isn't a feature in my opinion; every goretex jacket I've ever used simply held in too much moisture. So I'm looking forward to this keeping me totally dry...from the rain at least. Just like any jacket you'll have to deal with sweat during aerobic activity.I usually wear medium shirts/jackets and this medium is perfect. A little roomier to fit a fleece jacket and even a down jacket underneath if necessary. The sleeve length is perfect and the hood fits great. Not even close to the odd-fitting garbage bag style on the other Frogg Toggs stuff. This is basically a super cheap version of my $150 Marmot and Outdoor Research jackets. Of course, those still have their place and this is not a replacement per se.The medium weighs 7.85oz on my scale. That's a full 5oz savings compared to my usual rain jacket - enough to get excited about when trying to cut backpacking weight. As for the color, the blue is more of a nice grayish-blue but 1994 wants that fluorescent green/yellow zipper back. Hideous!

Excellent Product!!!

I was in a pinch and wanted a decent rain jacket but one that was lightweight to replace my poncho. I was going to Spain to walk the Camino Ingles route of the Camino De Santiago in northern Spain. Since I was going to be living out of my backpack, I couldn't afford to have something heavy in my pack. Based on the reviews, I order this jacket. I am SO GLAD I DID!!! It rained for my first two days of walking, over 32 miles up and down hills!! I stayed dry and didn't feel sweaty or steamy like I did when I wore my poncho. I absolutely LOVE this product and have already recommended it on many different Camino Facebook pages. It's FANTASTIC! It's completely lightweight and rolls up into itself to be stored away!

Super light a great value

It's a super light jacket at a great price. It's waterproof (but you'll sweat if it's humid) and it's not as warm as a heavier-weight jacket, but it does the job and is featherweight.
