Amazing results on granite, worth every penny!

Wow this stuff is amazing. I always thought my countertops looked a little dull, even right after being installed. One spot looked particularly bad after having a chip repaired and it appeared they damaged the surface polish around it. After being jerked around by a couple granite places I decided to take matters into my own hands, watched multiple tutorials on polishing granite, ordered some of this MB 20, a hogs hair pad, and picked up a cheap variable speed polisher from Harbor Frieight. I must admit, I was nervous about using a power tool on my countertops so I tried polishing them by hand first with the MB 20, but got zero results. It took me a little bit to get the hang of things with the polisher, I kept backing off too soon and not seeing any results, but the key is don't be afraid to run this stuff dry. It will start out wet, but then dries up and that's when the magic happens. I pretty much stayed on the lowest setting of the polisher which was 600 RPM's. I also went over it a second time with the same hogs hair pad and a few squirts of water to get rid of some residual haziness from the MB 20. I honestly never imagined my countertops could look so good! They are way more shiny than when they were first installed and that one bad spot from the chip repair is gone now (after hand polishing methods and no other products worked). I am so pleased, and actually in love with my granite now!

Polish compound for granite top

Excellent polish I used in conjunction with hog's hair pads to create clear reflective granite countertop surface. It is very appropriate to eliminate the frosty surface resulting from using different grit discs to get rid of scratch marks

... product with a power DA polisher along with the recommended buffing disk

I used this product with a power DA polisher along with the recommended buffing disk.I watched numerous videos on how to polishing granite counter tops.I am a handy person and figured this should not be too difficult. I then forged on expecting a great results. Instead after 20 minutes working a 3ft x 3ft area the results were very disappointing. In fact the finish was slightly duller in my opinion.Out of desperation I turned to a product I use for auto finishes. This is a auto compound by a company with one number and one letter making up it's name. The results were great and far better than MB-20. The haze was removed leaving a deep shine.

A good and very easy to use product!

I have darker granite stone kitchen counter tops, almost 5 years old. These counters had a high gloss finish when originally installed. On a corner of one I had several scratches from the original installation and around the outer 1/2 to 3/4 inch of the counters that have the heaviest use, a very dull area , I suspect from dishes being dragged of the edges of the counters. There was an overall dullness and lack of shine. We have regularly cleaned and sealed these counters. I'm fairly handy and have a variable speed polisher, so I decided to re-polish these. After much research and online videos, I purchased a set of Stadea wet diamond polishing stones, MB-20 polishing cream and white Norton polishing pads recommended for the MB-20. I started with the plenty of water, the 800 grit and it handily removed the scratches on the corner. I moved on to the 1500 grit and plenty of water for the entire counter leaving a very dull overall finish with no shine. Then to the 3000 grit and plenty of water achieving a very low shine. Moved on to the black final buff pad, worked forever with this and really could not tell it made a difference. Moved on to the MB-20. Very significant difference in the shine, used as directed, massive improvement but not nearly as high a shine as when these were originally installed. I also had a can of a specialty Italian black granite wax I had purchased a couple of years ago, so I decided to try that. Applied the wax, went over it with fine steel wool as directed, the with a clean white Norton buffing pad. The shine just popped! Look better than when they were originally installed.Very pleased with the end result. But, it took me several products and an enormous amount of time and hard work to polish this granite successfully.

Total Amateur- amazing results with the right tools.

My bathroom granite vanity was damaged a few years ago with many surface scratches. We had someone try to restore it and although the scratches were gone the polish they use quickly went away and we were left with a slab with half the shine gone and hazy. I thought I was going to have to either buy a new slab or pay someone else to try to restore the granite until I saw a few videos on granite restoration. Many vids used multiple diamond pads of varying grit and I wasn’t comfortable with the process. Then found a video using MB-20 with great results. I first tried applying the MB-20 using a 5” felt pad with my dewalt drill and had poor results due to not getting a high enough speed/rpm and too much wobble between the pad and granite. I broke down and bought a Makita 92/7C 7” variable speed polisher and hogs hair pad with stunning results. You definitely need those higher speeds to bring out the shine....I even was up to the 5 and 6 setting at the end to really heat up the polishing compound. I noticed some swirls in the granite after this high speed but was easily able to remove them by adding a small spritz of water and bringing the speed back to a setting of 3, gently going over the swirled area a minute or two. Absolutely thrilled with the results and will use again!

Not sure

Firstly from the outset let me state I was using on man made stone. I have polished my island bench twice with this compound using an orbital polisher . Some areas I’ve polished 3 times. Outcome is patchy at best. Could be my stone but just don’t know.
