After Edge, which I used for decades, changed their formula and it was like liquid, I started looking for a new shaving gel to use and ended up with Nivea. Glad I found it. It is even better than the original Edge was. It takes a very small amount to create a large amount of lather. It dispenses as a nice thick gel and has a subtle scent. It goes on easily and stays put. It is very effective at the job of getting a smooth, close shave. Yes, Edge lost a customer forever.PS: The Edge thing is strange. When I saw that it had turned to a watery mess of a product I went to the Edge website where there were hundreds of reviews from people complaining and Edge had been responding to the complaints for a full six months before I made my Amazon purchase. Their story was that a contractor that manufactures their product had deviated from the approved process. So, why was there not a recall? Why did they still supply retailers with a product they knew was substandard?

I have super sensitive skin. I shave my legs pretty much every day sometimes 2x. Never had a problem with it. I stopped buying Nivea because walmart had a cheap gel foam. Worst mistake. My legs are a mess, bumps, ingrowns. I switched back to Nivea after a month once I figured out it was the shaving cream. Making a speedy recovery in one week. The nivea cream really penetrates and protects the skin and I think the witch hazel keep bacteria from causing inflamed red bumps. People with sensitive skin- it is worth the money. A little goes a long way you don’t need 1/4 of the can. The product really stretches.

I had been using Edge shave gel for decades. They recently changed the formula or chemical that pushes it out of the can. Whatever the cause, it is a soupy mess and more like a lotion than a shave gel. It runs off your hand and face as you put it on, and lathers up to ver thin foam. The worst part is that they advertised it was the same formula, just a new can. That is just false. I found this NIVEA shave gel and took a chance - had to buy three cans -- it might be a good alternative, based on the reviews and videos. It turned out to be a great product. The NIVEA gel is thick -- thicker than even the old/real Edge gel, so you don't need to use much. It doesn't drip off your hand and face as you put it on. NIVEA lathers up to a good thick foam. And it treats my sensitive skin just fine.I was really ticked off (still am) at Edge. I was worried I would not be able to find another gel like the old version -- I'd tried other brands in the past and found them lacking. NIVEA is as good or better than the "real" Edge, and WAY better than the new Edge. For all the reasons you like a gel better than foam direct from a can, you will really like NIVEA gel. (No, this is not AI-generated nor in response to any incentive. You change a loved and great-performing product on me for some chintzy, lousy performing version and tell me it's the same, I'm going to put some effort into letting people know. SPREAD THE WORD!)

Helps me get a decent shave with my shaver.

I can't believe how great this shaving gel is. I used to use Pro Edge Gel for a long time, it was decent, but only decent. My skin type is sensitive and dry. I would also break out on my neck bad when I used Pro Edge Gel and get red spots and cuts. Now that I switched to Nivea, OMG, it's crazy how smoother and closer of a shave I get!! I absolutely love it! I literally lather up my whole face with this including neck and no breakouts whatsoever or red spots. Skin feels super smooth all day also! By far the best shaving product i ever used and we'll continue using as long as it exists... Thank you!!

I’ve used shaving cream all my life and I tried this Nivea cream for something different and it’s the best shaving cream I’ve ever used, just use a little and it’s thick and creamy

Easy to apply and definitely comfortable on a sensitive face. No undesired scent. Lubricates and helps to prevent razor burn. Rinses off easily leaving skin soft and ready for pairing with their sensitive shave balm. Highly recommend if you have sensitive skin.

Wow! I purchased the Nivea 3 can deal way back in December and just now, April 28, 2025, finished one can - that's 4 months or more! It lasts and lasts, mainly because of the way it is formulated and how little it takes to cover the face area for shaving. It's easy to apply, lathers perfectly, and smells great. I can't say enough positive about this Nivea shave gel and have recommended to it to my friends and family. They love it. And so do I. *5 Thumbs Up!*
