I got this for my kid's betta fish and the fish loved it! It is cute, and has many holes for the fish to swim in. The fish loves to swim inside the door and stick his head out of the little hole! I would definitely recommend this fish bowl decor and I would buy it again!

My Dad and I are throwing Mom a SpongeBob birthday, because she loves the little square dude lolWe got this to decorate the dining room table with.Very pleased with the item itself, it is small and we knew that. It's just as described! :-)However, Amzon did not do a good job at ALL with shipping and packaging of it. We are beyond shocked and lucky that it wasn't chipped up and/or broken. It was shipped around in one of their tacky "we made this box to fit your item" boxes, and the decoration itself was sitting in a tiny thin paper half-carton. Not taped in, not tied in, just sitting on it in the box. I heard it flopping inside when I picked up the package, and jut knew it'd be broken. It was not, thankfully.No air balloons to cushion, no paper filler.... tacky on Amazon's end for sure.

I purchased this for my 7 year old foster son for Christmas. I also purchased him a collection of 2" SpongeBob mini figures (9 characters total). I thought this house would be a nice addition to his toys. The toys are plastic, but this is glass. That's to be expected from an aquarium ornament. It's made of thick glass and painted with a pretty hardy coating of paint. For a toy it works fine and it won't break even after being dropped. The only piece that has snapped off is a little bit of the leaf from the top of the pineapple.We do have an aquarium that the ornament was used in for a day- because he wanted it in there. But the fish didn't seem fond of it, so he decided he'd rather play with it. The door of the ornament measures approximately 2" in height. Some of the small plastic characters I purchased do not fit in the house- but that's fine. On the other hand, for people purchasing this ornament for fish, the ornament will be quite small. Only smaller fish will fit inside. The entire pineapple itself measures about 4 inches across and 6 inches high. It's not a large ornament. Nice for a small fish bowl- but I don't really find those an ethical size for fish. We only use large aquariums. And in a large aquarium this ornament is very small. It's overwhelmed by the rest of the space.The ornament does have a beautiful paint job. The colors are very accurate when compared to the cartoon. In aquarium lighting, in the water, the look is fantastic. Like I mentioned though- it is tiny! The paint is waterproof and being compared to my other aquarium ornaments I can honestly say it seems about the same quality. It's nicely made.As for it being a toy for the small SpongeBob figures (which it is often purchased with on Amazon according to their 'to buy with recommendations')- it is a nice addition to the set. It's a little small for some of the figures, but the SpongeBob ones will fit inside. Patrick and Mister Crab are a bit too 'fat'. Sandy and Squidward are a bit too tall- but will fit in if they are tilted sideways to walk in. The glass doesn't really make it a great toy for kids under 5. But for kids 6 and older who will realize how to be a little more careful with their toys- this could be nice. It is the only toy SpongeBob house I've found aside from Legos (which is vastly more expensive).All in all I like this ornament, but it's not really five stars in my book. It's very small- which makes it good for the toy characters. But if you're using it for an aquarium it's going to seem a bit tiny. It's pretty and looks very realistic! But only tiny fish will be able to fit inside. If they made one a bit larger, I'd happily pay a bit more for it. And I think the size really does make a difference in rating on this specific thing- so that's why it got 4 stars instead of 5.

My son uses this in his 1.5gal filtered freshwater tank for Gary the betta. We did sand a few of the openings of the second house that had rough spots after reading a review which suggested it; a super easy precautionary measure. When it needed cleaning we used tank water and a nail brush and it looked great again. It's probably only needed cleaning 2-3x a year, and if that kid would mind the tank lights better, maybe it would need less. He did drop it on the floor once, and of course it broke into several pieces. It is just so cute, though, and quite affordable, so we bought another one. In summary, it's fragile when handled by children but bettas are much better at keeping it nice. :)

Used it in a cake topper with characters, absolutely perfect!

This is one of the cutest aquarium ornaments I think I've ever seen. I'm so happy I got it! However, I must post a buyer beware warning: mine came with EXTREMELY sharp edges inside the pineapple. I have myself a small cut trying to fix the problem, and yes, it's fixable. The edges are really the only thing keeping me from giving this product a five star review.Now, I was able to fix the problem with a nail file and sand paper. It's very small inside, so this is a bit of a feat, but it can be done. Rinse this very well after you're done, and perform the "nylon stocking test" to make sure it won't damage long finned fish.I have a pretty robust species (Betta), but if you have more delicate species that is very sensitive to water quality changes, this may not fly. The item appears to be made of standard polyresin, though, so I'm pretty comfortable with its stability in water, but I'm by no means an expert, so please use your best judgement.

This is a cute little addition to our new fish tank. The fish like to hide behind it and in it. Perfect size for standard-sized gold fish. The only problem we had (and it's minor) is that the very top of the pineapple leaf (the green point) broke off very easily when my son was holding it. But we decided to keep it anyways. I'd buy it again. Just be careful when you're handling it as it's a little delicate but definitely worth the money.
